Pa to aa bridge program emory

I wouldn't say they have taken over the field. They started the field, so it stands to reason they would be the dominant profession. Anesthesia isn't an IM subspecialty. It's med school and anesthesia residency. More likely to start at k and top out at k Granted it's with much fewer hours than PAs work. Not unusual for newer grads to make K at all. Depending on call and numbers of hours worked, k is not unrealistic. The number of states where utilized has increased greatly in the past decade.

Cali and Nevada will crack soon. Anesthesia practice groups like AAs because they respect the anesthesia care team model. I wouldn't say that CRNAs pioneered the field but they definitely dominate it right now.

AA are the new kid on the block. On the other hand, I would do my current job for less than I currently make. I just love to intubate. It is more like a PA sub specialty job but it pays a bit more. Truth be told I have never met an AA that didn't like it. You can work at a big tertiary care place like USF or UF or Emory with sick people or at a smaller place, pick your days and hours and call level, and have a life.

Of course I was in Florida at the time and all the AAs I knew either loved golf or boats, which made them a good match for the anesthesiologists I also disagree with some of the other posts. It's a great career choice if you like being a part of multiple surgeries, and it involves a lot of patient care outside of the OR too. But like people have said, you are limited to anesthesia and 17 states for now. But you make more than most PAs and the requirements for acceptance is more lenient.
