The game itself is pretty top-shelf and this particular item would make a great addition to a Street Fighter fan's collection or the perfect gift for a Street Fighter fan you know that can appreciate its awesomeness. Read full review. All, Let me start by saying that I am an absolute fighting game fanatic. It's been several years since I could list a new Capcom fighting game as one of my favorites and I believe that I have every fighting game made for each of the gaming 8 systems I own.
Capcom, on a daily basis. I bought recently Street Fighter IV along with the tournament edition gaming stick and I can't put it down. I was a bit skeptical and very disappointed when I first discovered that Street Fighter IV was a 2d fighting game.
I was absolutely blown away with the graphics and game play Capcom was able t o achieve in a 2-D game. The graphics are far better than any of the 2d fighting games for sale today and even rival the best 3d fighting games on the market right now. The sound was also excellent and thankfully it was fully adjustable as well.
I loved being able to change the various sound components. It was especially nice to turn off the annoying voice of the announcer who sounded more like a game show host from the "Running Man" movie.
The Game play is fantastic. It's simple enough to pick up and start playing right away, unlike a Virtua Fighter V, but deep enough to keep experienced fighters interested. In my opinion. It's quite intuitive and many of the special moves are easy enough to execute that beginners and even button mashers can be competitive, while the experts will find more than enough depth to keep them coming back for more. When compared to other world class titles like BlazBlue, K. This game is so good that I stopped playing everything else.
In my opinion, Capcom also provides the best online gaming experience. It's also very easy to find a match and I rarely waited longer than 30 seconds to find an opponent of a similar skill level thanks to the rating system in Championship mode. My only compliant about the game was the lack of a single player story mode, which is a part of most fighting games today. However, the lack of a story mode does very little to discourage me from recommending this game to all fighting game aficionados.
At times I actually thought that it might be better that Capcom focused all of their energy building a perfect head to head combat system rather than wasting resources with a worthless story mode. In summary, I recommend this game to all age groups and gamer types. It's perfect for beginners and experts alike. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars , minus its titular "flashback" gameplay feature.
While Street Fighter IV features models and backgrounds rendered in 3D, the gameplay remains on a traditional 2D plane, with the camera having freedom to move in 3D at certain times during fights, for dramatic effect, similar to the Street Fighter EX series Capcom produced with Arika.
Initially the title had been developed to use 3D hitboxes, but the testers felt it didn't have the "pixel perfect" precision of a Street Fighter game, and the game was therefore changed to use 2D hitboxes.
Art director and character designer Daigo Ikeno , who previously worked on Street Fighter III 3rd Strike , [6] opted for non-photorealistic rendering to give them a hand-drawn look, with visual effects accented in calligraphic strokes, ink smudges and ink sprays during the fights.
The game runs on the Taito Type X 2 arcade board inside a Taito Vewlix cabinet [7] and takes advantage of the Type X 2 's network capabilities and allows players in separate machines within the same LAN to fight each other. European box and cover artwork of the Collector's Edition Xbox version.

An update added Guy, Gouken and Evil Ryu to the roster. Another update added Elena, Juri and Rose. Reception for the game has been overwhelmingly positive, with scores appearing in reviewer's top rankings.
Joe Juba from Game Informer 's stated that the game, " It delivers the intensity of competition James Meilke of 1up. Criticism came to the anime-style scenes, " Honda's onsen hot spring will be left wanting. Street Fighter IV is also rated on Gamestats. The Xbox version has an overall score of 9.
MadCatz has released two licensed FightSticks and five wireless GamePads to coincide with the game's release. The Tournament Edition FightStick features a Sanwa joystick and 30mm buttons, as well as various modification abilities. GamePro 's official review [8] of the stick s state that the Tournament Edition also comes with a compartment to store the sticks' cord, along with rubber feet located on the underside.
The basic FightStick is considerably smaller in size, but has been reviewed [9] to be for intermediate players, and has the capability to be rested comfortably on a player's lap. The face of the controller is marked with a graphic displaying the original eight fighters from Street Fighter II, but it is clear the stick can be modded.
Turbo, Home PS3 and Guide buttons are located on the upper left corner of the models, as well as a lock switch to keep from accidental initiation during play. Also both FightSticks ships with detachable wires , for easier switching out buttons and joystick.
