A few have succeeded, but most people are having trouble and are awaiting for the Chinese hackers and community to get an ISO out. The following features are included in the build: Windows Peeking or Aero Peeking Desktop Slideshows Modified Start Menu and Taskbar No arrows beside application icons For the doubtful, here are some screenshots of the build in action.
More updates to come, stay tuned. How did someone have time to copy this info onto a drive and no-one noticeded? Ms get a ton of free PR and hype I've seen lots of "leaks" like this before and unless Mr Han steps forwards and we find he has nothing to do with MS I would personally suspect MS "leaked" the file. I was tempted to grab it, but I dont want to deal with a virtual drive. I'm gonna wait till later this month or next for the media version to get leaked.
Ha ha ha ha ha and I'm getting the beta as soon as it's released - or earlier - from MS itself he he he he he he! I hope I can find the time to play with it. And this "leak" We have all become pre-beta testers. What an ugly Taskbar :. I can't see what all the fuss is about, If all W7 offers over Vista is a modified task bar and a slide show think i'll stick with Vista.
I havn't scoured the web for W7 info, but I would have thought I would have heard more about what they intend to offer to tempt me away from Vista. I'm not sure what Microsofts aim is here, I mean arn't the major upgrades [DX11 and such] still going to be availiable for Vista. In which case I guess they could be trying to pick up the guys that never left XP after all the -ve hype Vista got. If so they better make sure it's got some decent drivers and doesn't use a gig of RAM.
The thing about Windows 7 isn't the fact that is looks similar to Vista. There's probably other stuff, but that's that interests me the most. They've just taken Vista and made it better, it's not a complete rehash. I think its basically Vista without the problems, also i have heard its supposted to be faster and not use as much of the system resources. Ahh now that puts a different spin on things, if it has indeed been streamlined like you say it's definatley worth further investigation..
Thanks for the enlightenment Wanell . I've testing the build, pre-beta, and in terms of performance and boot time its about the same. Some things will feel more reactive, like switching between windows and searching around your hard drive. Windows 7 is a Service Pack turned OS. But granted, it's not even in beta yet so I am hoping. I have to agree with the sentiment - MS want to lose the unpopular?
Anyone remember the trick MS played on some testers? Almost as if they were seeing whether they could release Vista with a new name and look - and hoodwink the masses! Hey gandalf is this what you mean: The Mojave Experiment. So i want to see Dx11 under win7 vs vista, that raid and multi gpu are even better, and Win7 has real support for CPU cores. By win7 will be as much of a must as vista 64 now is.
But over the last 2 decades I hae learn't to avoid the new MS os, for a min' months so its actually becomes stable and can run games as well as the old one!
As Win7 right now looks very much like a rehash of vista it could be great with games from the start. The streamlined and less memory thing is no bother to me as with GB and a fast PC vista runs fine now. That win7 was going to be 64 bit only So far Win 7 looks like a Vista theme pack ; Hopefull over the coming months MS will tell us about all the fab new feaures in Win7 to look forward to.
Because desktop slideshow, new taskbar and no sidebar, frankly thats a bit sh1te And about as exciting as being slapped with a wet fish on a friday Include a half decent Paint package, video editor, firewall and word processor for free! Decent DVD Blurray player and edit package built in. Give me advanaced natural language text, voice, search and control of PC and eye tracking and gesture control through a variety of devices. Promote multi monitor gaming Os use. For me thats what Win7 should be what do you reckon?
I am re-posting this from another topic. Please keep in mind by no means am I a MS fanboi, I just don't like the Idea that people bash products without really knowing what they are talking about. It is one thing to be informed and THEN create an arguement, but it's quite another to look at a screen-grab and state "it's just Vista SP3" or "it's just modified Vista. I used Vista in beta form and officially from Day 1 of it's launch, the ONLY problem I had that I couldn't solve by using my brains was the terrible driver support from Nvidia, which subsequently was resolved 3 months later in April of Now for the copy and paste.
The build I have to work with is very Vista-like, missing the new Start menu, desktop, and taskbar enhancements. It will have its own set of keys and not use the ones currently floating around, which seem to be "Vista" version keys.
When ever I tried to use any of the keys I've been using for activation, I got a message saying it was not a Windows 7 key. Nov 9, 60 0 0. I am sticking with Build for now. I have it activated until 2nd Aug. I don't like the bootup screen, 's is the best ever IMO, and the Gadgets don't work - this is not acceptable to me. I have to find a way to save the '01 boot screen for future use, the bouncing balls deal ain't a gonna cut it I seems to me is the best beta version I have seen since I started playing with Vista beta.
I also don't like the "fish" desktop so I copied a image from to use in Nov 5, 17 1 0. I know is already great but the taskbar is incomplete. Dec 8, 37 0 0. I'm using vista ultimate as my primary os right now and plan on using windows 7 or as my primary os until the real beta version is released Dec 10, 1 0 0. Dec 6, 40 0 0.
