Install ultraedit on usb

Grand Master. Please ask IDM support by email and post its answer here. This is an user to user forum. IDM is not reading here all posts - see top of this page. An U3 version would be really helpful for support people. However, my workaround solution with the batch file is working also with v The configuration settings are splitted up into several files, but all configuration files are always in the same directory as the INI. So copying all configuration files including the INI into the UltraEdit program directory is still possible and I use it daily to be able to switch the version quickly for answering forum posts.

I whole heartedly agree. It would be fantastic if UE was made into an U3 compatible program. Hi Mofi, Thank you for the information. I did read your notes on portability. I didn't appreciate that IDM don't actively monitor the posts.

I have asked the question to support and will post a response if I get one. I see a number of people are interested in this topic, and as you are a very active member, what is the best way to present a worthwhile case for this feature to IDM? I will give your suggestion a try in the mean time, but I thought I read something about the licence key method changed in 12 that meant it was tied to the machine.

Best would be that all users who want an U3 version writes an feature request email to IDM support. The higher the number of users who request it the higher the chance that IDM will develop it.

Would you suggest everyone writing their own letter, or having one person send a letter, signed by everyone who supports the idea? It's obviously more difficult to organize one letter signed by many, but it would generate less repetitive email for IDM I'm guessing the more people request this feature directly the higher the chance of them developing it. There shouldn't be any issues here provided that you are the only user of the software.

You wouldn't have to install your license on the client system. I don't know what would be involved in this, but have entered a suggestion to consider this into our developers' database. UltraEdit can handle and edit files in excess of 4 gigabytes.
